Paul Hoskin, Managing Director
Paul Hoskin, our Managing Director has been in Financial Services all his working life originally starting with Nat West and working his way up to Area manager for the last 7 years. He then became a Director of an IFA firm, Hoskin Financial Planning Ltd since 2014
With over 30 years’ experience and expertise Paul has gained immense knowledge and expertise in financial matters specialising in Pension and Retirement planning.
Paul has many long standing clients both personal and corporate which have been built up by offering flexible long term planning to match individual customer aspirations. This, along with the pride and dedication that he places on developing solid personal relationships with his clients, ensures that he is able offer a rounded, professional and principled service.
Paul also enjoys professional relationships with Solicitors and Accountants with whom he can work with to enhance the services they offer to their clients. Paul understands the demands on these professionals when referring appropriate clients to him, and prides himself on keeping his own professional knowledge and understanding up to date in creating solutions for these clients at important life stages and events.
Outside of his business, Paul is a keen golfer, plays keyboards and Saxaphone.
Doug Richardson, Financial Planner
My name is Doug Richardson, I am a qualified financial adviser with over 20 years of experience within the Financial Services Industry, currently based in Colchester Essex.
From our Frederick Charles Wealth Management office in Maldon Essex I provide advice to my clients, predominantly throughout Essex but also in other areas, having clients in Norfolk, Suffolk, and London.
I pride myself in being able to give advice in an easy to understand jargon free manner.
Having been qualified to a high standard for a number of years, holding the Chartered Insurance Institutes Financial Planning Certificate, along with the Institute of Financial Services certificate in Mortgage advice and Practice, I have continued to study and have achieved Diploma status via IFS, Diploma for Financial Advisers (DipFA) a higher qualification required by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to continue providing advice post 2012. I also hold the Equity Release* qualification allowing me to advise in this rapidly growing area of Financial Advice.
In my spare time I like to spend time with my family, enjoy an occasional round of golf, and am a keen Motorcyclist.

Stuart Phillips, Practice Manager
Stuart has worked in Financial Services for over 25 years and spent the majority of that time managing a pricing team for a London based asset management company. He now heads up the administration team at Frederick Charles Wealth Management providing support to both advisers and clients.
In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, renovating his house and he is also a keen cook.
Rob Clark, Financial Administrator
Rob has worked in Financial Services for over 26 years in Advisiory and Management roles for companies including Standard Life, Lloyds Banking Group and in the last few years for St James’s Place in a compliance function.
Being CII Diploma qualified, Rob has a sound understanding of the industry, assisting the team to provide excellent service to clients.
Rob lives locally and works part-time, enjoying fishing, gardening and spending time with family in his spare time.
Rouan Wevers DipFA

My advice covers retirement planning, investment planning, inheritance tax planning, life and wealth protection and mortgage advice.

In my spare time I enjoy time with my family, playing golf and supporting my local rugby club.”
Rachel Hales, our non-advising Director has been in Financial Services most of her working life originally starting with Abbey National in a junior role and working her way up to a Mortgage Underwriter for the last 3 years of her career with the company. She then became a Director of her own Mortgage broker business in 2006.
With over 20 years’ experience and expertise Rachel has gained immense knowledge and expertise in the Mortgage Industry.
Rachel has built up many long standing clients both personal and business which have been built up by offering a flexible and understanding approach to match the customers aspirations. This, along with the pride and dedication that she places on developing solid personal relationships with both clients and professionals.
Outside of his business, Rachel loves to attend the Theatre and Concerts and also spending time with her Cocker Spaniel Sweep.
Spencer Vickerstaff, Financial Planner
Having previously worked as a monumental stonemason helping clients to create bespoke memorials, I decided to embark on a career change which would encompass my passion for helping others along with working in the financial sector. With hard work and determination, I was given the unique opportunity to work with St James’s Place when I was accepted onto the St. James’s Place Core Academy. The outcome of an intensive six month training programme was that I became a fully qualified financial planner and joined Frederick Charles Wealth Management as an adviser.
My approach is to provide understandable wealth management solutions to individuals, families, business owners and corporate executives. In particular I pride myself on providing specialist financial advice to help clients minimise tax, maximise wealth and protect against risk.
My focus as a financial planner is on building long term trusted relationships by helping my clients achieve their financial goals and ambitions with a hands-on personal approach. The most satisfying part of my job is knowing that I have helped all my clients.
My spare time mostly consists of spending time with family and friends, watching football, playing as much golf as possible and supporting my favourite American football team, the Jacksonville Jaguars.
CHARLOTTE TURNER – OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR
Before starting with Frederick Charles Wealth Management, I worked for an Investment Platform, Aegon. Having had 3 years’ experience within the financial industry I was interested in working for a financial adviser directly. Which led me to FCW.
I have worked in an office environment within different sectors for 13 years, working full time up until I had my eldest son 4 years ago, I now work 2 days per week. It is in my interest to increase my days once my boys are at school.
In my spare time I enjoy being with my family, spending time at the farm and making good memories.
SUE JARVIS – OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR
I joined FCW in September 2019 as a member of the Administration Team, giving full admin support to her colleagues, including holding a First Aider at Work Certificate.
My previous roles have been varied providing her with the skills to adapt and embrace every new opportunity.
Outside of work I like to spend all my spare time with friends and family, in particular my three little grandchildren; I also love to bake, go to the theatre and salsa dancing.
MICHAEL RIDSDILL-SMITH – FINANCIAL ADVISER
After serving as an Officer in the Royal Engineers, I developed significant skills and experience in sales and trading, in the emerging financial equity markets, particularly in Asia.
During my city career I worked for international banking organisations including Credit Agricole Indosuez, WI Carr, JP Morgan and Citi and I lived in both Hong Kong and Taiwan.
My wife and I have successfully invested with St. James’s Place and other providers for the past 26 years and I qualified as a Financial Adviser in 2019.
In my spare time I am a keen water sports enthusiast and instructor, enjoying sailing, windsurfing and stand up paddling with my wife and two teenage sons.
